I am new to buying firearms online, what is the process?

Legally, when an individual wants to buy a firearm through the mail, they must have it shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. First, choose a local gun dealer or other FFL holder in your area and get their permission to have a firearm shipped to them from PWW. The gun dealer would then do the background check, etc and transfer the firearm to you in return for a small fee.

IMPORTANT: It’s the customer’s responsibility to check, prior to placing your order, to ensure the product you are ordering meets all local, state and federal laws for your area.

NOTE: Once you have selected an FFL holder to handle the transfer, please upload a copy of their FFL License here. Now, you are ready to place your order!

What does FFL mean?

FFL stands for “Federal Firearms License”. This is issued by the BATF to those who deal in firearms and it is illegal to deal in firearms without an FFL.

Does AR stand for assault Rifle?

No. “AR” comes from the name of the gun’s original manufacturer, ArmaLite, Inc. The letters stand for ArmaLite Rifle β€” and not for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.” Armalite was the company that won the contract with the U.S. Government to supply the military with a new and improved weapon for the battle field.

Is an AR 15 considered an assault weapon?

AR-15-style rifles are NOT ‘assault weapons’ or ‘assault rifles,’ according to NSSF’s website. β€œAn assault rifle is fully automatic β€” a machine gun. Automatic firearms have been severely restricted from civilian ownership since 1934.” … Lawful owners, though, are allowed to keep the weapon if they register it.
